Shenandoah Valley Academy

Library

The library has over 12,000 volumes, a wide range of periodical publications, a newly updated reference department, and a significant compilation of career materials.  A librarian is available to assist the students in research, writing, and casual reading.

Career and College Counseling

In addition to the career and college selection materials located in the library, the Career and College Counselor is available throughout the school day.  Each year the Counselor compiles test results and other information available for each student into their personal portfolio.  These materials include aptitude test scores, personal interest test results, major projects and written reports for other classes, and evaluations from teachers and work supervisors.  During the senior year, the Counselor reviews the student’s portfolio with them and their parents to make recommendations on possible careers and college to attend.
