Student Dress

 

General Guidelines

  • Clothing worn by SVA students should always be neat, clean, and modest.
  • Garments should not be tight or form fitting.
  • The clean-cut look will be expected rather than the faddish.
  • Shoes or sandals must be worn when a student is out of the dormitory. Jewelry is not acceptable at SVA.
  • Please do not wear items such as necklaces, bracelets, leather bands, chokers, rings, earrings, and similar items.
  • Clothing should not advertise or reference rock groups, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. or have slogans or pictures that are offensive, or suggestive of a lifestyle out of harmony with Christian principles.
  • Shorts should not be ragged or cut off. 
  • Hats and other head coverings are not permitted in any buildings and doo-rags are not permitted outside of the dormitory.
  • Hair color must be of a natural shade and boys’ hair length or style cannot be excessively long or extreme.

Administration Building Attire

Shirts - An SVA school-logoed polo  must be worn at all times while in classes, classroom buildings, library, the administration building, and lunch in the cafeteria.  Approved polo colors are: navy, white, evergreen, red, yellow and pink.  Each student must purchase at least one navy polo.  SVA-logoed oxfords and/or blouses are no longer acceptable Ad Building Attire

Pants/Skirts – All pants are to be khaki in color are to be purchased from Lands End.  Pants will have the SVA logo on the front pocket. Skirts must be purchased from Lands End and must be no more than 2” above the knee..  The skirts must not be form fitting.  Leggings may worn under the school skirt.
