Graduation General Information

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Meals are complimentary for immediate family.

• All Juniors are required to be in attendance throughout graduation weekend. They have a big job in helping make graduation weekend run smoothly. All hands on deck make it easier for everyone.

• If a senior has a sibling here at SVA, that sibling will be allowed to stay on campus after exams are over. He/she will be asked to work (dormitory, cafeteria, or maintenance) for part of the day on Thursday and Friday or until you arrive.

• All dorm Juniors & Seniors are required to spend nights in their respective dorms.  Please do not ask for exceptions!

• Passes will be signed for students to go off-campus with parents on Thursday & Friday evenings; passes will end at 11:00 p.m., Please be respectful of this curfew! The deans still have a responsibility for the safety and well-being of their residents and must to be able to get the dorms locked and make sure all students are checked in.

• Passes will be signed for students go to off-campus with parents Sabbath afternoon. Once the Class Night program begins, there will be no off-campus passes issued!

• You are invited to a reception immediately following class night in the Twomley Hall lobby.  Administration will announce the close of the reception. All dorm students must be in their respective dorms after the close of the reception.

• Please note:  We ask that Seniors not wear additional “adornment” on their graduation attire (Sabbath & Sunday) except what is issued by SVA (4-year medal, generation medal, NHS, etc.).  No pins, cap decorations, or other special items. Students may wear those items for family pictures following commencement.
