Work Program

Shenandoah endeavors to instill the value of work and develop strong work ethics in each of our students.  We believe that students must be taught that life requires earnest work responsibilities.

The work of our students varies from dishwashing in the cafeteria to housekeeping in the dorms.  Freshmen/Sophomores typically work a minimum of 6.5 hours per week and can expect to earn approximately $2,000 per school year, after tithe.  Juniors/Seniors typically work a minimum of 10.5 hours per week and can expect to earn approximately $3,000 per school year, after tithe.  Because of the limited work opportunities on our campus, community students that are 16 years of age and above will be provided work opportunities at SVA as they are available.  Student earnings above the amount estimated in their Financial Plan will be used to reduce the amount of SVA's student aid given.
